Warm up ~10 minutes
Find a partner. While skating around the rink clockwise practice 2 on 0 passing as hard as you can. Switch sides each time you get to the end of the rink so you can work both forehand and back hand.Stations 10 minutes each - Read plan linked above
Station 1- Battle Pass to point
- Coach dumps a puck in and two players play 1v1 for puck while a 3rd player stays at point. The offensive player gets pass back to point and gets ready to receive a pass, tip or rebound. D player moves body out of net.
Station 2 - 1v1 and 2v1 angling
- Defense - Timing, Gap, and speed mirroring will be key. Make sure you're communicating with your partner and maintaining good position on the open player.
- Offensive player - work on deception, puck protection, and strength on the puck. If you don't have the puck move to open lanes to receive passes
Station 3 - Attack Under Pressure
- Player O begins with a puck five feet in front of player X. On the coach’s signal, Play X chases player O around the tires and attempt to stop player O before he can score. Vary the start distances so that player O is forced to skate at top speed.
Station 4 - Small Area Game Passing
- Must pass the puck 5 times before shooting. Line up that 5th pass for a shot!
- Streak only resets when the other team successfully makes a pass. Battle to get it back.
- MOVE on and off the puck to create and find space.
