Practice Plan Week of Dec 16th
Hi Team,
Same practice plan as last week. Please see the plans, comments, and teams from last week to know what jersey to wear and what we will be doing. Additionally, for travel on Tuesday we'll spend a little extra time on some basic systems play.
See you at the Frank!

Tuesday Practice 12/10
Hi Team,
Today will be a stick and puck format and I have invited the other travel teams to the practice. I have encouraged the kids to work on exaggerated moves, edge work, and the other things they don't like to do at a normal practice :)

Practice Plan week of Dec 9th
Hi Team,
Was a tough couple of games and it's important to remember that we didn't play poorly. I'm proud of many aspects of how we played. They skated hard in both games and moved the puck well. I thought our movement off the puck improved and we could have played with any team in the league those first two periods. If you want to watch the games you can find them here. Certainly some lessons to learn.

Our practice plan is as follows.
Practice Plan 12/9
Warm up ~10 minutes
2v2 in one end and the middle with goalies at one end. You have pass to any player on each end w/out losing the puck to score a point.Stations 10 minutes each - Read plan linked above
Station 1- 1v2
- Read from the attached practice plan above. If defending, focus on angle and communication. Offense focus on deception and speed.
Station 2 - Transition angle skating
- Offense - tight circle protecting the puck from the tires
- Defense - This about gap so you can get a good angle. You may have to go around the tire multiple times to get the right gap.
Station 3 - Guard the gate
- Defensive Player - Body and stick position will be key. Move your feet to push the offensive player out.
- Offensive player - work on deception, puck protection, and strength on the puck.
Station 4 - 1v1 and 2v1 angling
- Defense - Timing, Gap, and speed mirroring will be key. Make sure you're communicating with your partner and maintaining good position on the open player.
- Offensive player - work on deception, puck protection, and strength on the puck. If you don't have the puck move to open lanes to receive passes

Dryland
Dryland practice is a great supplement to helping us become better hockey players and a better team. It hones critical athletic skills that all hockey players need. We work on strength, endurance, quick feet, quick hands, and coordination while instilling team building and bonding at the same time. Although we will continue to do dryland practice at least once a week as a team, each individual player should take these lessons and do them at home on their own or even with their siblings or parents.
