Practice Plan for the week of 12/2.

Hi Team,  This is what the coaches and I talk about before practice and now we're going to try and bring you into so we can get more out of practice in the short time we have.  Please makes sure the players have both practice jersey's and house jersey as we adjust teams on the fly.  NO travel game socks or jersey's at practice!  Coach Bill will send out a separate dry land plan.  Reminder on the ice at 8:15 PM Monday and dry land starts at 6 on Tuesday.

12/2 Practice Plan

Warm up ~10 minutes

We will start at the 4 corners of the blue lines.  All 4 players will skate with a puck clockwise around the circle giving and receiving a pass from the player in each of the other corners while skating.  Return to the end of your original line and the next player in that line goes.  We'll add modifications throughout.

Stations 10 minutes each - Read plan linked above

Station 1- Drop Passes

• Read from the attached practice plan above.  Additionally, protect the puck putting your body between you and the cone/barrier as you would against a defender as you make the turn to do the next drop pass.

Station 2 - CJ Scissor

• Forwards be deceptive both on and off the puck by faking movements to space and/or passes and shots.
• Defense - let the goalie take the shot but don't let the player walk into the goal.  You should also be deceptive with your body and stick movements.  Keep your stick in the passing lane.  Make sure they don't get a rebound.

Station 3 - Push Pull Shooting

• Over exaggerate your movements and act like the tires are defensive players.  It's highly likely a coach might step in and be a "tire".  Keep that puck safe and those hands quick. 
• Don't over-handle the puck after the last move. The point is a quick move followed by a quick shot.
